The north coast
Heading along the north coast, the towns of Bangrak, Bophut, Maenam, Ban Tai and Bangpor are all situated overlooking the sea. These towns are far less busy than Chaweng and are therefore quieter. Bophut is famed for Fisherman’s Village which has a very eclectic dining scene with all manner of restaurants set on its pedestrianized beach road. Maenam is home to the Santiburi Golf Course and features a bay as long as that of Chaweng, but with fewer people. Many buyers both Thai and foreign are attracted to the north coast.
The west coast
Lipanoi, just south of the island’s capital, Nathon, is a very quiet area offering homes both on the coastal plain and in the hills that overlook it. Considered a very beautiful area, its beach is one of the island’s favorites.
And as you head further south, the whole area from Lipanoi to Lamai, is even more secluded. Home to quite a few luxury properties (but not just) this area is for those who seek privacy and a slower, laid-back lifestyle.
